There are many short courses out there that provide a quick 4 hour - one-day training or quick online courses? You think to yourself 'Why should you be investing 2-3 full days in our approach?'.  That extra one to two days of exercise may not sound like a lot to you, but that's what will eventually make or break your lash business and your confidence. There are so many short lash course held daily, but how many 'lash artists' really managed to make it their full time job after taking the course? Less than 5%! 

Online may seem more convenient and more accessible, but the truth is that you do not get the quality of hands-on training needed to complete a beginner's course correctly successfully. Lashing may look easy by watching it on youtube but honestly, it is one of the tidiest careers in the beauty industry. There are so many factors that can cause retention issues, sticking of lashes, the right amount of adhesive, wrong placements etc., that can not be seen online by an instructor and only leave you frustrated.

This often results in lousy lash application and extensions falling off too quickly, thus clients don't return, and you eventually lose passion and confidence in your business. A-lot to think about when your investing in yourself and a new career.

Can I take the Classic & Volume course together?

I strongly suggested against taking both courses together even if you see academies offering it out there. Simply put, it's like teaching you how to fly before you can even walk properly. Volume is an advanced technique that requires a solid foundation in classic extensions application first. We recommend only learning after you have become extremely fast and confident with traditional sets.

As a beginner for Classic extension, it should take you about 4 hours to apply a good quality complete set. As you practice regularly over months-1 year, it should be around 1.5-2 hours to complete a full set of Classic lashes, which fills about 1-1.5 hours. When I took my first volume course (years after I mastered the classic lashes), even I was back up 3-4 hours to do a complete set of Volume lashes despite my experience. The application of extensions is a form of art, and we need to be responsible for the health of our clients' natural lashes. Learning a completely different technique when you have not mastered the first one will leave your work undesirable and messy. We can charge a premium fee like some other academies to tie both courses together. Still, it would be unethical for us to do so, and it's against our values in producing top-quality students for the lash industry.

Course Choices and Outline:

Our course runs 9-4 each day with an hour off for lunch break. We offer two choices for our beginners' classic lash courses. You can choose either a 2 or 3 day Course. We have found over the years that adding in an additional third day does wonders for your confidence. Having more hands-on instructional guidance when dealing with different types of lashes and adding in "lash fill clients" really adds to the learning experience. These clients will be the majority of your income as a lash artist. The 3rd day is not necessary but highly recommended. 

2 Day Course with large kit is $1299 plus GST (Classic Only)

3 Day Course with Kit is $1599 plus GST (Hybrid Pre-made)

Day 1 is as follows:

Theory in the morning and live model

• Eyelash growth cycles
• Disease and Disorders
• Contraindications of having lashes
• Allergic reactions
• Informed consent
• Health and Safety
• Importance of clients cleansing their lashes
• Preparing your work station
• Lash Mapping
• Eye shapes and choosing the right style
• Product Theory
• Types of lashes - different thickness, curl and types
• Application Process
• Lash Extension Removal
• Aftercare Products and Recommendations
• Marketing and Business Set-Up

In the Afternoon, we work on:

• Practical work on a mannequin head.
• Removal of Lashes
• Practice putting down eye pads on each other.
• Tips and Trouble Shooting
• Knowledge Test

Day 2 is as follows:

You will need two models for day 2. They will need to be with you for 3 hours each, so make sure they can do so. Your models must not have extensions on, for it would cut into your time if you need to remove them. You will be learning how to consult, map out and apply lashes for new sets on your Day 2 models.

• The first model is to come at 9 am 
• The second model is to come at 1 pm 

Day 3 (OPTIONAL ADD-ON) as follows: (Beginner Hybrid/Pre-Made Fans)

Day 3 will involve two additional models. Again they will need to be with you for up to 3 hours each. Please make sure they can do so. With your day 3 models, we would like your model to already have classic eyelash extensions already on. If they have volume lashes on, it may be more difficult for you to isolate and pick through the lashes removing the ones that have either grown out or need to be removed. Volume lashes attach differently from classic lashes, so the removal technique is a little different, therefore classic is preferred. You will learn which lashes will need to be removed, before you begin your fill. We will go over how to place and add pre-made fans for extra volume. When to use and when not to use in each circumstance.

• The first model will need be there for 9 am
• The second model will need to be there for 1pm
• Bonus - Learn to apply pre-made fans for a ‘Hybrid Look’
• Bonus - taking the perfect photos and apps used for social media

Certification Process and Homework:

You will be required to provide extension services on about 8–10 models before a certificate is issued. If you took the 3-day course, you are required to send us 6–8 additional models (sending us in clear photos as you go for us to view and comment). However, if you are a fast learner and managed to tick all the boxes at your, let's say "5th model", we are more than happy to issue the certificate! We would love for you to come in and do your final model in our Studio for a little extra training and confidence before you go out on your own. If you cannot do so, then a clear video walk through on a lash application could suffice. We would like you to have this done within three months.

For the certificate to be issued, you will need to demonstrate the following:

• Use of appropriate amount of adhesive
• Proper placement and direction of extensions placed on the natural lash
• Correct isolation with no ‘stickies’ (zero damage to natural lash)
• The distance of extensions placed from the client’s skin
• Good knowledge of theory to answer clients’ questions

Terms & conditions:

Registration fees paid are non-refundable. In the case of an emergency, fees paid is transferable to another date. If you need to switch to another date, we will need two weeks' notice.
